Start Your Own Safelist

Are you ready to start your own opt-in safelist?

There's a lot to consider. Are you going to install a script yourself? Or are you going to buy a ready hosted script, that will be installed for you? You even have the choice of adopting a safelist.

You will need to think about the price of course. You will also need to think about how complicated a script, that your skills can handle. Then there's the web-host to consider.

Some hosts have good reputations; some don't. Some scripts run fine,; other scripts have their little bugs.

Bellow are mainly known safelist hosts, but there's a couple of good scripts as well.

PERSONAL NOTE: I have been objective here, not everything here is 100% recommended. Purely honest information to the best of my knowledge. There is a lot more to think about too. This would be a great place to start your reasearch.

Noticed many of the lists I joined hosted by this organisation are still around.
Have also heard that they are extremely dedicated to the job. So if you want fast setup and easy administration, this is a good place to start. Safelists start at just $14.95/month.

Mbonnerhosting - safelist host

bbSafelist Pro Script and iPower Safelist Hosting. Great set-up & script.
You gain new members for your new safelist immediately. Once your list is setup, simply login to your administrative area. From there you can add your list to The Subber service instantly. They also offer a directory of Safelist Directories where you can submit your new Safelist to from your admin area. Your safelist will also be placed into their iPower-Safelist Hosting directory. Members will be able to join your new safelist from inside the member’s area of any of the other lists in our network with one click!

iPower-Hosts - safelist host

Damn Smart Mail (DSM) is claims to be a breakthrough in safelist hosting. It is a highly advanced, feature rich, low cost, safelist management system.
This may be true in some respects, but I have still not forgotten that JPE advertising (the owners) have ripped me off, regarding 10 executive safelists accounts that I no longer have. Not happy with their “fix-it” offer as well. It was very annoying because their script is likeable.

Damnsmartmail - safelist host

Practically identical script as Damn Smart Mail. They claim to be the #1 Safelist Hosting Company on the Planet! Of course this is just hype. Can honestly tell you they have problems too. Their new Planet-X-mail (industrial strength email accounts) is equally as bad as their safelists. Planet-X-mail is on banned lists of many safelist owners. They used to be good and still should be. Think they must have downgraded their IT department or something? The problem: no matter what email you use for your subscription it starts to bounce. Tested this with 7 email accounts and conferred this with other bulk/industrial strength email providers. We were all convinced the problem was at their end. Perhaps the only email that does not bounce with their scripts is Planet-X-mail???

Planetxmail - safelist host

Another great option. Prices start at $9.95. Plenty of good features, nice tidy design and friendly navigation. Have nothing bad to say about this service. Would recommend this as a good starting point.

Safelistservices - safelist host

A well known & popular script. This script is held in high regard by many. A copy of this script can purchased at a much better price, but with no installation support. If you could install it yourself I am only asking for $20 for the script, click here to buy it.
Otherwise the price of installation is included this option on the left.

iComplete - safelist script

Seen some fantastic looking “Pearls Of Wealth” safelists. Have seen some overwhelming presentations as well. Although presentation is important, there are other things to consider. The functionality of the safelist is fine. The only question - Is the price right? The basic package is just $10 but you really need some of their additional services offered. It soon adds up to a lot more!

Pearlsofwealth

This host has problems. Personally, I once shared ownership of a safelists with this host. All I will say on the matter is I don’t recommend them and let's leave it at that. They use the latest PHP script, which is regarded as the best around by many. Is it all hype though? A wise programmer once told me, don’t be in a hurry to upgrade scripts; you might be installing new bugs. Sometimes things are just best left alone.

Sunneagles - safelist host

A safelist hosting company who seem to have been around forever. They use their own high-speed script and safelist hosting fees start at ridiculously low prices. Due diligence applies. Sometimes you get what you pay for; let the buyer beware. Can’t say I've heard either way with this option.

JFK Enterprisesgroup - host

A relatively cheap host. Again due diligence applies, sometimes you get what you pay for. Let the buyer beware.
Can’t say I've heard either way with this option either.

Prolisthosting - safelist host

Well only one bad thing to say about this option, but it’s only an opinion. It has annoying turing keys! For safelist users, it’s a major turn off. Joined a few of their safelists well over a year ago now and the membership numbers have not increased at all? You Can not use them with your safelist submitter unless you upgrade. Who wants to upgrade when there is only about 100 members?

Safelistbuilder - safelist host

A similar script as Safelistbuilder and owned by them too. The one major difference is they have actually removed the turing keys. This makes it far more attractive for the end user. Quite like this one as a starting point. It’s a good place to start. Did I mention it was free?
